Luxore Installation Guidelines

We aim to make the templating, delivery and fitting of Luxore work surfaces as pleasurable as possible with the least amount of inconvenience. The following is given for information and indicates the steps and actions necessary to facilitate the above.
Information Required by Whitehall

(i) A detailed plan of the worktop area, indicating colour, sink & hob cut-outs, drainers, edge profiles, square returns, tap holes, notches around pipe boxes and any other relevant information. Whitehall will use this plan for pricing, templating and manufacturing the worktops.
(ii) A plan of the kitchen unit layout, indicating appliance positions.

Kitchen Installation and Preparation for Templating

(i) The Kitchen Installer must fix all base units and end panels in position. These must be secured and tied in to the walls, where necessary, before templating.
(ii) All walls should be battened out usually with 50 x 25mm softwood.
(iii) Any existing/ temporary work surfaces and work surface appliances (i.e. hobs & sinks) must be removed before templating can be carried out.
(iv) If walls are tiled, any tiles that prevent the templates being taken, must be removed in order for the new work surfaces to be templated right back to the walls.
(v) All appliances must be on site for templating.

Templating

(i) During templating, a representative must be available to confirm the size and positions of any cut-outs for hobs/sinks/taps as well as any ambiguous details which need clarification.
(ii) Templating may result in changes to the cost of the original estimate if the specification has altered from the original. E.g. extra cut-outs, increased worktop depths etc.
(iii) Any amendments made to the worktop layout or details will change the cost of the work surfaces and may affect delivery.
(iv) Aborted template visits where Whitehall are not responsible will be charged for.

Fitting New Work Surfaces

(i) This will be approximately 2 weeks after templating.
(ii) The kitchen Installer must remove any temporary sink and work surface before the Luxore work surface is installed.
(iii) Cut-outs may have to be partially cut in the factory and completed on site. This operation generates dust. Whilst the work surface installers use dust extraction systems, this operation does leave an amount of air born dust which can only be cleaned up by others after it has settled.
(iv) Due to its excessive weight and the fact that in its’ unsupported state, Luxore is fragile to handle despite templating it may be necessary to chase out parts of the wall in order to aid the installation. . This will need to be made good by others. The work surface installers will not seal where the Luxore butts up to the wall
(v) Aborted installation visits where Whitehall are not responsible will be charged for.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

(a) The maximum joint free worksurface length is 3000mm. This can be shorter in some cases dependent on the type and thickness of the product and the size and number of cut-outs.
(b) The maximum length of a piece of upstand is 1500mm. The minimum height is 75mm
(c) Upstands made of a different thickness to the worktop will not necessarily colour match.
(d) Proposed site joints will be marked on your drawing sent back with your quotation. These may alter subsequent to our template visit and you will be informed accordingly.
