Q: What is Krion?

A: Krion is a solid surface material sold in flat sheets. It’s typically used for work surfaces and countertops and can be cut and joined to create bespoke structures.

Q: What is Krion made of?

A: Krion is a solid material made from a blend of natural and synthetic components. The blend is two parts natural minerals (Alumina Trihydrate) and one part high resistance resins. This combination gives Krion its solid, nonporous structure while remaining warm to the touch like natural stone.

Q: What can be produced using Krion?

Q: Is Krion recyclable?

A: Yes, it’s 100% recyclable. Anything made from Krion can be reprocessed into something else.

Q: Where is Krion produced?

A: Krion sheets are manufactured in Spain by the Spanish company Porcelanosa Group. Distributors and fabrication specialists like Whitehall supply Krion products in the UK. We provide cut sheets of Krion as well as bespoke, templated surfaces. We install Krion surfaces too.

Q: How do you clean a Krion worktop?

A: It’s best to clean Krion like you would other surfaces – with a damp soapy cloth. Once clean, rinse and dry the surface to remove residual soap and prevent water marks. For stubborn stains, you can use stronger cleaning spray or cream cleaner. For surface scratches or stains, you should use a mildly abrasive cloth and rub gently in circular movements until the stain is gone.

Q: What can damage a Krion surface?

A: Putting very hot pans directly onto a Krion surface can cause it to crack. You shouldn’t cut directly onto the surface either as this can mark the surface.

Q: Are Krion surfaces repairable?

A: Yes, they are completely repairable. Surface scratches can be sanded away, while deeper cracks can be removed and replaced with patches. Once fitted, these patches are seamlessly blended into the rest of the surface.
