Proud history, bright future

For more than 35 years, Whitehall Fabrications has led the way for innovation, quality and excellence. We remain the preferred specialist fabricator and installer of bespoke worksurfaces for a host of leading names in both residential and commercial markets, but this hasn’t happened by chance. It is the result of a long and proud history which has shaped the company you know and trust today.

Our story began in 1979. In the year Margaret Thatcher became the first female Prime Minister and Trevor Francis the first million pound footballer, Whitehall was established as the UK’s first fabricator of Corian, the original solid worksurface.

In 1988 the company was purchased by Mike Greenwood and George Drysdale, who oversaw a symbolic move to larger premises in 1993 before Stuart Daniels joined Whitehall as National Sales Manager in 1994. Stuart would later become co-owner of the company.

Throughout the 90s, the company was successfully meeting the demands of residential and commercial clients and the addition of granite worksurfaces to the portfolio in 1998 was a major step forward in product innovation, heading into the new millennium.

Thankfully we survived the threat of the millennium bug (was anybody actually affected?) and in 2002 George Drysdale retired, signalling a new era under the joint-ownership of Stuart Daniels, which would see a sustained period of growth with a number of portfolio extensions.

That same year, Luxore was introduced to the Whitehall portfolio, an innovation in quartz worksurfaces which comprises natural quartz and a high performance polymer resin. The growth continued with another move to new, larger premises in 2004 before the launch of LG Hi-Macs into the retail sector in 2005.

But we didn’t stop there. The additions of Silestone luxury quartz surfaces, the first to incorporate advanced bacteriostatic technology (2009), and Staron, Hanex and Krion solid surfaces (all 2012) have ensured Whitehall remains ahead of the competition for the flexibility and innovation of our worksurfaces.

Rome wasn’t built in a day – and neither are good companies. That’s why you can be sure Whitehall has the tools, knowledge and experience to meet your needs today and in the future.
