Whitehall comes out top in John Lewis workplace employee survey
Posted by Whitehall on 28th FebWe’re the preferred specialist fabricator and installer of bespoke worksurfaces for a host of leading names, which includes none other than retail giant, John Lewis & Partners.
As a long-standing John Lewis supplier, we were recently asked to take part in their Model Factory Programme and Better Jobs Report, which we were only too happy to get involved with.
We opened the doors to external scrutiny…
This meant that last year, our factory and systems audit were independently assessed by John Lewis. Meanwhile, all of our staff were asked to take part in an anonymous employee survey, which enabled John Lewis to really get underneath the skin of our business and obtain an honest glimpse of how we operate and what it’s like to work for us.
…and we learnt a lot of (good) things about ourselves
Impressively, so many of our staff were so responsive to completing the survey, that our response rate was the highest of all of the suppliers that John Lewis had shared the employee surveys with. An amazing 70% of our workforce took the time to complete the survey and shed valuable light on our industry-leading ways of working.
But that wasn’t the only area we triumphed in. Once all of John Lewis’ survey results had been collated and reviewed, they discovered that our performance across all areas of their framework and the employee survey were consistently high.
Some of the key findings (as revealed by our employees):
✔️ 100% of our workforce has a development plan in place.
✔️ 50% of our workforce is taking part in some form of mentoring/buddying programme.
✔️ Most of our workforce feel comfortable to be themselves at work because their mental wellbeing is being supported.
We were pleased to be asked by John Lewis & Partners to take part in their programme and we were even more honoured – and delighted – to hear that so many of our staff are behind the way we work and know that we value them.
We’re renowned for putting our customers at the heart of everything we do. But we also value our team too, who’ve enabled us to lead the worksurface fabricator field for the last 30 years, and will no doubt enable us to do so for another 30 years and more.
